Ultimate Frisbee

Spring — March to May

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate frisbee is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport played with a flying disc. What makes ultimate truly unique among competitive sports is its commitment to the Spirit of the Game — a tradition of sportsmanship and mutual respect that places the responsibility for fair play on every player. In ultimate, there are no referees; players self-officiate, calling their own fouls and resolving disputes through honest dialogue.

At BHAA, we see the Spirit of the Game as a natural extension of the values we hold as Christians. The honesty, humility, and respect for others that ultimate demands reflect the character of Christ Himself. Our athletes learn that true competition isn’t about winning at all costs — it’s about glorifying God through the way we play, treat our opponents, and carry ourselves on and off the field. We believe ultimate frisbee offers a uniquely powerful setting for young people to develop integrity, self-control, and servant leadership.

Coaching Philosophy

Our ultimate frisbee coaches are dedicated to developing the whole athlete — spiritually, mentally, and physically. Because ultimate is self-officiated, our coaching emphasizes character formation as much as throwing technique and field strategy. We teach our players to make honest calls even when it costs them, to resolve conflict with grace, and to treat every opponent as someone made in God’s image. Coaches model servant leadership and encourage players to hold one another accountable with love. Parents are an essential part of our team and are encouraged to support the program through volunteering and prayer.
